  • If you take prescription blood thinners or anticoagulants, please let your provider know before your appointment.
  • Planning for a special event? Neurotoxin results typically begin to appear within 3–5 days, with full results developing over 10–14 days. We recommend scheduling your treatment at least 2 weeks before any important event.
  • Please reschedule your appointment if you have an active rash, cold sore, infection, or open wound in or near the treatment area.
  • If you have a history of cold sores, please notify your provider before treatment.

  • Do not rub, massage, or apply firm pressure to the treated areas until the following day.

  • Wait 24 hours before scheduling facial treatments, laser treatments, BBL/IPL, microneedling, or dental procedures unless otherwise directed by your provider.
  • Mild redness, swelling, tenderness, or small bumps at the injection sites are common and typically resolve within a few hours.
  • Bruising is possible and should improve over the next several days.
  • Results begin to appear in 3–5 days, with full results developing over 10–14 days.
  • If a touch-up is recommended, it is typically performed 2–3 weeks after your initial treatment once your results have fully developed.

  • Avoid touching, rubbing, massaging, or applying pressure to the treated area unless specifically instructed by your provider.
  • If you received Sculptra®, follow your provider’s massage instructions. Most patients should massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days.
  • Avoid facials, facial massage, facial brushes, laser treatments, BBL/IPL, microneedling, or other aesthetic treatments for 2 weeks, or until cleared by your provider.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, excessive bending, saunas, hot tubs, and excessive heat for 24–48 hours.
  • Limit alcohol and high-sodium foods for 24–48 hours, as they can increase swelling.
  • If swelling occurs, apply a cool compress for 10–15 minutes at a time during the first 48 hours. Do not apply ice directly to the skin.
  • Beginning on day 3, warm compresses may help resolve bruising more quickly.
  • Sleep with your head elevated the first night to help minimize swelling.
  • If needed, Tylenol® (acetaminophen) may be used for discomfort unless otherwise directed by your provider.
  • Arnica montana or bromelain supplements may help reduce bruising and swelling for some patients.

 

What to Expect

  • Mild swelling, bruising, tenderness, redness, and firmness are common after treatment and typically improve over several days.
  • Swelling is often greatest during the first 24–48 hours before gradually improving.
  • While you’ll notice immediate improvement, your final results are typically seen within 2 weeks as swelling resolves and the filler settles naturally.

Forever Young BBL is designed to improve pigmentation, redness, sun damage, and overall skin tone. Following these guidelines will help ensure a safe treatment and beautiful results.

Sun Exposure Is the Most Important Rule

  • Forever Young BBL cannot be performed on tanned skin.
  • Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, self-tanners, and spray tans for 4 weeks before and 4 weeks after treatment.
  • Wear a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ (preferably SPF 50+) every day and reapply every 2 hours when outdoors.

 

Preparing for Your Appointment

  • Arrive with clean skin free of makeup, moisturizer, sunscreen, or self-tanner.
  • Avoid jewelry in the treatment area.
  • If you’re treating the face, consider bringing a hat to wear home.
  • If you have a history of cold sores, please let your provider know before treatment. Preventative antiviral medication may be recommended.
  • Stop using retinoids, Retin-A®, tretinoin, exfoliating acids (AHAs/BHAs), benzoyl peroxide, hydroquinone, and other irritating skincare products 3 days before treatment.
  • Avoid waxing, chemical peels, or other skin-irritating treatments in the treatment area for 2 weeks before your appointment.
  • If facial hair is present in the treatment area, shave 1–2 days before your appointment. Do not shave the day of treatment.
  • Please notify your provider if you have taken Accutane® (isotretinoin) within the past 6 months.

What to Expect During Treatment

  • Protective eyewear will be provided throughout your treatment.
  • Most patients describe the sensation as a quick warm snap against the skin.
  • Treatment is generally well tolerated and typically does not require numbing cream.

Your skin may appear pink or feel warm immediately after treatment, similar to a mild sunburn. These effects are temporary and typically resolve within a few hours.

What to Expect

  • Pigmented spots may temporarily darken before naturally flaking away over the next 7–14 days.
  • Mild redness and swelling are normal and usually resolve within a few hours.
  • Most patients experience little to no downtime and can return to normal daily activities immediately.

Preparing for Your Appointment

  • Arrive with clean skin free of makeup, sunscreen, and moisturizer.
  • Stop using retinoids, Retin-A®, tretinoin, exfoliating acids (AHAs/BHAs), benzoyl peroxide, hydroquinone, and exfoliating scrubs 5–7 days before treatment.
  • Avoid waxing, laser treatments, dermaplaning, and other exfoliating procedures for 2 weeks before your peel.
  • Avoid prolonged sun exposure and tanning for 2 weeks before treatment.
  • If you have a history of cold sores, please notify your provider. Preventative antiviral medication may be recommended.
  • Inform your provider if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have recently taken Accutane® (isotretinoin).
